Dan Wolter

Dan Wolter heads government relations and public affairs for pharmaceutical company Pfizer in the states of Michigan and Ohio. From 2005-2001, he was director of the University of Minnesota News Service, where his responsibilities included overseeing public relations for one of the largest research Universities in the world. Prior to joining the U of M, Dan worked in communications and speechwriting in a number of offices, including Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Ann Veneman and former Tennessee Gov. and U.S. Secretary of Education Lamar Alexander. In early 2005, Wolter was appointed by Gov. Pawlenty to represent northern Dakota County on the Twin Cities Metropolitan Council. Dan earned his bachelor’s degree cum laude from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa in 1993. Dan was elected to the MAP board in January 2011.
