EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR NAMED AT THE MINNESOTA AIDS PROJECT

Bill Tiedemann hired to provide leadership on HIV prevention

November 8, 2011

The Minnesota AIDS Project (MAP) is pleased to announce that Bill Tiedemann has been appointed as its new executive director.

Tiedemann comes to MAP from the Ohio Department of Health, where he is the Program Administrator in the HIV/STD/Hepatitis/TB Division.  He serves on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD).  Tiedemann holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Cleveland State University.

“Bill brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in the HIV field,” said Patrick Troska, MAP Board Chair.  “Bill’s collaborative style, passion for the mission, and vision for the future of HIV prevention will be a tremendous asset to MAP.  We believe he provides the right mix to be the leader who can take MAP into the next era.  His selection was a result of a nationwide search and his connections on the national stage will position MAP as a leader in the HIV fight.”

Tiedemann will begin his work at the helm of the Minnesota AIDS Project on January 3, 2012.
