With the start of the new year we are starting a new blog on the volunteer area of our website to keep you up to date with new volunteer opportunities, information about MAP and its services, news about things going on within the HIV community, and other little tidbits that you may find interesting.

In 2011 Minnesota AIDS Project hired Bill Tiedemann as the new Executive Director.

Register for AIDS Action Day

Make Your Voices Heard!

AIDS Action Day 2012 will be on Thursday, February 9! AIDS Action Day is the day that HIV advocates take over the state Capitol to increase visibility about HIV, meet with legislators, and rally in the Capitol Rotunda. The Minnesota AIDS Project public policy department will schedule meetings and provide attendees with issues and advocacy training. Legislators truly appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to come meet with them. Your personal stories make the difference when it comes to protecting funds for HIV prevention and services.

Become a Prevention Program Recruiter

This is a great volunteer opportunity to directly make a difference in our community.  As a Prevention Program Recruiter you will learn about MAP’s HIV Prevention Programs such as CLEAR and SHIELD, gain communication skills and tools, and use them to help connect others with these services through social networking, friends and family.  This is an outreach opportunity that I think you will find quite rewarding.

Show Your Support for the MN AIDS Walk

Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 20th. It’s the 25th year of the MN AIDS Walk and we want you to help us make this year’s Walk a memorable success.  Each year, the Walk is the most important fundraising event and it takes lots of volunteers to make it happen.
