This is the critical time in the legislative session when your phone calls can really make a difference. The House and Senate have both passed their bills and now the conference committees need to iron out the differences and determine funding priorities.

MAP has three funding priorities:
* STI Prevention Funding
* Workplace Education
* K-12 Education

Who should you call and what should you say? We have listed key conferees and talking points. All you have to do now is call for the money!

STI Prevention Money Up For Grabs

Message: "Please support the Senate provisions in the omnibus health and human services bill (SF2361/HF1832) that add $800,000 in new STI (sexually transmitted infection) prevention funding and reverses the Governor's HIV funding cuts. Also, oppose provisions that create onerous tracking requirements on HIV prevention grants and restricts sexual health education to abstinence-only until marriage."

Funding for HIV Regional Training Sites Down to the Wire

Message: Please support funding in HF82, the omnibus K-12 Education bill, for the five existing regional training sites (Brainerd, Grand Rapids, Park Rapids, Winona and Hopkins). These sites are instrumental in helping school districts develop HIV, STI and sexual health curricula.
