Minnesota Update: Governor Pawlenty Proclaims Latino AIDS Awareness Day

Governor Pawlenty proclaimed Sunday, October 15th as Latino AIDS Awareness Day in Minnesota. The Governor’s proclamation is part of a month-long national testing and awareness campaign. In 2005 there were 377 Latinos living in Minnesota who were HIV positive. This accounts for 8% of all HIV cases in Minnesota.

The Minnesota AIDS Project would ask the Governor to support legislation that would advance honest HIV prevention, increase access to HIV services, and protect existing HIV services and rights, in order to combat HIV in Minnesota.
